FAQ's

 What is uPVC?
Polyvinyl chloride (also known under its acronym “PVC”) is a widely-used substance. It is essentially derived from simple ingredients: petroleum, titanium and salt. Globally, over 50% of PVC manufactured is used in construction. In addition to its good physical properties, PVC has excellent, chemical resistance, long-term stability, flammability resistance, good weatherability, flow and insulatory electrical properties.
Rigid applications, accounting for 60 % of total vinyl production, are concentrated in construction markets which include windows, doors, railing, fencing, pipe and fittings, siding as well as carpet backing. As a building material PVC is affordable and easy to assemble. In recent years, PVC has been replacing traditional building materials such as wood, concrete and clay in many areas.

What lifespan can we expect from uPVC windows & doors?
Under normal conditions, you can expect 20 - 25 years.

Can we use upvc windows in corrosive atmosphere?
Yes. The uPVC is inert to most harsh chemicals and is more than suitable as it can be washed using harsh disinfectants.

Are uPVC products scratch-proof?
Unlike powder-coated steel or aluminum windows, uPVC resists most scratches. But They are not scratch proof.

Are they maintenance-free?
Yes. Throughout their lifespan, they can be used with next to nil maintenance and effort on the owner’s part.

What are the exclusive advantages of UPVC Windows?
UPVC Windows is a bag full of advantages. They are corrosion resist, Termite proof, have very good sound insulation and are ideally suited for all type of climatic conditions.

Are the UPVC Windows costlier than the ordinary windows?
Yes, the UPVC Windows are costlier as compared to the ordinary windows, but when it comes to durability they are simply the best and acts as a biggest asset to your abode.

Aren’t PVC-U windows all the same?
No. Even outwardly different windows can be completely different on the inside. The quality of the material, stability and durability, design and processing quality are different as are profile design, sealing, and system variety. Expert installation and integration are of paramount importance as well.

How can I tell good quality PVC?
One way to assess the effectiveness of a frame is to examine the thickness (depth from inside to out). Ideally choose 60 mm thickness and ask about the thickness of the PVC in the frame - a multi-walled (not solid) section should be 2.2 - 2.3 mm.

Where is PVC-U used in construction?
PVC-U is an approved construction material and one of the archit's mainstays. PVC-U is as common in pipes, roof gutters, faчade cladding, roofing, light-diffusing walls, interior fixtures, cable ducting, and signs as it is in windows and rolling/folding shutters. Its long service life makes it both an economical as well as environmentally safe solution.

Why should I go with PVC products rather than aluminum and woods ?
Unlike other material, PVC will not rot, corrode or otherwise be affected by sun, humidity, salt, pests, rodents or other harsh elements.

What types of windows are available?
There's the traditional casement window - side or top opening (sometimes known as an awning) - and these can sit alongside fixed (non-opening) windows. There are also Vertical Sliders; imagine a sash window that slides and then opens inwards. Then there's an array of tilt and turn options where windows tilt back for ventilation and then turn to open.

How does Peep-Ingo about quality assurance?
A look at Peep-Inmanufacturing, R&D and quality assurance operations provides the answer: there are more testing than production steps. Testing is conducted throughout - from incoming raw materials to windows in place in inhospilitable climates. Scheduled audits by independent testing institutes confirm Kommerling's attention to detail.

How about the thermal insulation properties of various window materials?
PVC-U and wood provide marked thermal insulation, meaning their thermal conductivity is extremely low. By contrast, the thermal conductivity of aluminium is 1,000 times greater. Cold bridges are generally interrupted by using PVC-U bars. Apart from the profile design, the type of glazing used is also of paramount importance.

Are you aware exactly how much heating costs can be saved?
In comparison to old, single-glazed windows, heat loss per unit of glass area can be reduced to less than one-fourth. To achieve this, special thermal insulating glass is required. Yet substantial heating savings can be achieved with standard insulating glass as well.
